ALVORD -- R.E. "Whit" Whitson, 86, a retired Machinist, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 in Decatur.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2007 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: 2 p.m. Fairy Cemetery in Hico. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Officiating: Rev. Dan Sparkman. Pallbearers: Richard Whitten, R.C. Whitten, Aaron Tarver, Jeremy Davis, Mike Inman, and Steve Adams.
Memorials: Made to charity or organization of choice.
Whit was born in Fairy, Texas. He married Catherine Smith on January 27, 1944 in Dallas, Texas. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors: Wife, Catherine Whitson of Decatur; Daughters, Toni Davis and husband Rick of Decatur, and Karen Adams and husband Steve of Granbury; 10 grandchildred; 10 great grandchildren; and long time companion, a Jack Russel, Sadie.
