Reberta Faye Ousley

Paradise ~ Reberta Faye Ousley, 85, of Paradise went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport followed by burial in Cumby Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Rev. Kevin Barke will officiate.  Pallbearers will include Joseph Berrones, Bryson Curry, Ethan Ellingburg, Devin Solomon, Andy Sutton, Theo Sutton, Christopher Solomon, Dylan Caudle, Joshua Ramsey, Colby Caudle, Jeffrey Vogelbacher, Donny Greer, Matthew Sutton, and Eric Griffin.

Reberta was born on July 9, 1936 to J.B. (Joe Ben) and Oveta Reberta (Alexander) Whatley in Decatur.  She completed school and became a homemaker. Reberta was united in marriage in 1977 to Claudie Ousley, Sr. until his passing in 2000. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Sam Houston Shipman, Jr. who passed in 1960; her husband, Claudie Ray Ousley, Sr; her brothers, Tim Whatley and Vernice Whatley; her sister, Linda Burris; and her grandson, Steven Priest.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Cathryn Welch, Sammy Joe Shipman and wife Katrina, Cindy Griffin, Lenora Ellingburg, and Kay Sutton and husband Kenny; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jolene Cooper and Judy Begley and husband Butch; numerous extended family members, and a host of friends.
