Alvord ~ Rene Velis Cardona, 61, a custodian, went to be with our Lord Friday, April 29, 2016 in Fort Worth.
Memorial service is 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at DFW National Cemetery.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate.
Rene was born on June 13, 1954 to Rustino and Francis (Velis) Cardona in Crosbyton, Texas. He was united in marriage to Anna Lee Flanry on May 10, 1996 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Rene served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord.
Rene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Lee Cardona; and his sister, Rosa Cardona.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Melissa Cardona Walker and husband Chris of Fort Worth and Amy Williams of Dallas; his son, Heath Martin King and spouse Brad of Burleson; his sisters, Sylvia Martinez and Elida Garza; his brothers, Wiley Cardona and wife Juanita and Ruben Cardona and wife Cindy; his grandchildren, Dorian, Elijah, Amariah, Mariah, and Zachary; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
