CHICO -- Retta Evelyn Wright, 89, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 in Mesquite.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Thomas Cemetery. There will be no set time for visitation on Friday. Family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Rev. Mike Wisenant of Granbury will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ray Wright, Mark Nichols, Christopher Nichols, Ethan Nichols, Michael Collins, and Larry Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Nichols and Randy Wright.
Retta was born on January 22, 1920, in Hood County, the daughter of John and Dillie (Gibson) Collins. Retta was a homemaker. She married Roy Truett Wright on January 26, 1946 in Fort Worth. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
Retta was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, a great granddaughter, Jena, and 12 siblings.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dillie Gandy and husband Charles of Forney; son, William Wright and wife Carol of Mesquite; 6 grandchildren: Ray and Amy Wright, Sheria Mastriani, Mark Nichols, Regina Collins, and Tamara Fluitt; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
