Rex Allan Frye

Alvord ~ Rex Allan Frye, 82, of Alvord went to be with his Lord Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Alvord with burial in Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral at the church.

Dr. Michael Freese will officiate.

Pallbearers include Jason Baird, Tyler Baird, Danny Taylor, Clayton Taylor, Chuck Harris, and Ted Maxwell. Honorary Pallbearers include Donnie Parker, David Weldon, Melton Neighbors, David Goodwin, Mack Thweat, Jim Baird, and Pat Garrett.

Rex was born June 10, 1938 to Robert Lee and Susie (Pierce) Frye in Alvord, Texas. He married Jeanie Richardson on August 10, 1972 in Nocona, Texas. They were married 48 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Slim and Lucille Richardson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanie Frye of Alvord; son, Coley Frye and wife Amanda of Alvord; grandsons, James Allan Frye and Carl Dale Frye; numerous extended family and a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Mount Zion  Baptist Church Meals on Wheels or the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #433 Scholarship Fund.
