Poteau, Oklahoma ~ Richard Dale Bridges, 72, a retired oilfield worker, went to be with our Lord Thursday, November 10, 2016 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Graveside service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Mark Autry will officiate.
Richard was born November 25, 1943 to Wright and Alta (Lawrence) Bridges in Bridgeport, Texas. He was united in marriage to Shirley Riddle on August 2, 1982 in Waurika, Ok. Richard served in the United States Army and was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy and Benny Bridges, Jimmy Dunlap; and his sister, Peggy Arwine.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Bridges of Poteau, Oklahoma; his daughters, Sandy Lambert and husband Jim of Boyd, Cindy Jessup of Boyd; his son, Chris Bridges of Boyd; his stepson, Ken Simco of Wichita Falls; his grandchildren, Jeremy Lambert and wife Kim, Robert Lambert and wife Stephanie, Brittany Haarmeyer and husband Lance, Slade Bridges, and Ian Bridges; five great-grandchildren; his sisters, Emily Tackel and Pat Conn; his friend of 45 years, Daniel Enox; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
