Graveside service: 4 PM Monday at Chico Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 7-8 PM at Hawkins Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Cooper will officiate.
Richard was born on March, 1, 1956 in California, the son of Wayne and Gloria (Allen) Elam.
He married Julie Apfel on July 16, 1991 in California.
Left behind to cherish his memory is: his wife, Julie Elam of Bridgeport; son, Dennis Elam and wife Tina of Bridgeport; daughters, Grace Elam of the Virgin Islands, and Denise Elam of Washington; stepchildren, Joseph Marrone of Decatur, James Apfel of Runaway Bay, and Amy Apfel of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Haley and Taja; brother, Wayne Elam and wife Becky of Bridgeport; sisters, Shirley Elam, Darlene Evans, Diane Glaze, Sharon Lomas, Linda Elam; special nephew, Wayne Elam, Jr. of Paradise.
