Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 19th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gerre Joiner officiating. Burial will follow service in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Les Keenan, Don Millett, John Castro, Logan Keenan, Lane Keenan and Michael Mangini.
Richard was born March 23, 1931 to James William and Lillian Law Keenan in Great Falls, Montana. He married Opal Hinds on October 4, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. Richard retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant after 20 years of service.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Opal Keenan of Decatur; two sons, Les Keenan and wife, Victoria of Hico, Jim Keenan and wife, Monika of Fort Smith, Arkansas; daughter, Kathryn Millett and husband, Don of Decatur; 10 grandchildren, Grace, John, Chelsea, Lindsay, Mallory, Shannon, Shelby, Lorelei, Logan, and Lane; four great grandchildren, Austin, Victoria, Trevin, and Jayde; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
