ALVORD -- Richard Scott Thomas Sr., 49, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at his home in Alvord.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Interment: East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate. Pallbearers: Tracy Martin, Jamie Branscum, Leslie McCain, Pete Bond, Mike Thomas, Rick McCain, Danny Hughes, and Kenny Mann.
Richard was born on February 8, 1960, the son of Valton Sr. and Billie (Beck) Thomas in Wink, Texas. He married Carla (Mills) Thomas on July 12, 2003 in Wise county. Richard was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father, Valton Thomas, Sr.; mother, Billie Manning; son, Richard Scott Thomas, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Alice Thomas.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife, Carla Thomas of Alvord; daughter, Linsey Thomas of Mineral Wells; sons, J.C. Rumbaugh and wife Jackie of Hawkinsville, Georgia, Michael Rumbaugh of Bridgeport; granddaughters, Piper Thomas, Grace Riley Rumbaugh, and Justine Rumbaugh; step-father, Bobby Manning, Sr. of Bridgeport; brothers, Bobby Manning, Jr. of Bridgeport, Ronnie Thomas of Bridgeport, Valton Thomas, Jr.; sisters, Gina Richards and husband Chris of Rathdrun, Idaho, Robin Russell and husband Nathan.
