Newark ~ Ricky Dale Thornton, 57, a carpenter, went to be with our Lord Monday, November 9, 2015 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Boyd, with burial in Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Reverend Mark Autry will officiate. Pallbearers include Jaret Holmes, Tony Lambert, Mike Lambert, Michael Lindsey, Jim Lambert, Chuck Lambert, Danny Lambert and Johnny Lambert. Honorary pallbearers are David Lambert, Tommy Lambert and Blake Stockard.
Ricky was born December 7, 1957 to Tommy and Dorothy (Lambert) Thornton in Bridgeport, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father; son, Daniel Guerra and brother, Randy Thornton.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his companion Dana Ortez of Newark; his sons, Christopher Morris of Newark, Jonathan Guerra and wife Donelda of Rhome, and Michael Lindsey and wife Trinity of College Station; his grandchildren, Guage and Michael; his mother Dorothy Gray and husband Billy of Newark; and his sister Gaye Stockard of Newark; other relatives and a host of friends.
