Robert Lynn Sanders

Decatur ~ Robert Lynn Sanders, 76, a retired communications administrator for The City of Amarillo went to be with our Lord Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Fort Worth.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Trinity Fellowship Decatur. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the  Hawkins Funeral Home Decatur. Burial will be 1:30 pm Thursday September 1, 2016 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas Texas.

Rev. Frankie Garcia will officiate.

Robert was born on December 30, 1939 to Robert and Katherine (Hanover) Sanders in Lubbock, Texas. He was united in marriage to Naomi Sanders on May 15, 2013 in Plainview Texas. He considered her his “once upon a time” and his “happily ever after”. They dated while in High School and found each other again in 2013. They settled in a townhouse in Decatur, found a wonderful church.  In February of 2008 he retired from the City of Amarillo after 20years. He was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son; Michael Sanders, Donna Sanders; his stepson Doug Roming.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 3 years, Naomi Sanders of Decatur; his son, Bryan Sanders of Amarillo, Texas; his daughter, Hollye Peters and husband Jason of Keller Texas; his step son, Scott Dudley and wife Nancy of Amarillo, Texas; his step daughter, Kayla Rohr and husband Larry of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Braeli, Coryn, Nicholas; Step-grandchildren Mason and Berkeley; his sisters, Jane Christian of Rockwall, Texas, Mary Hilliard and husband Steve of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Memorial Donations may also be made to American Cancer Society or the Texas Tech Alumni Association.
