Denton~ Robert “Rob” Rios Gonzalez, 53, went to be with or Lord Friday, April 3, 2020 in Ft. Worth.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Bro. Ray Cook, Jr. and Bro. Britt Doty will officiate.  Pallbearers include Eddie Longoria, Ruben Molinar, Erik Olson, Nick Richardson, Nolan Burrage, and Jesse Burrage.

Rob was born on June 16, 1966 to Aureliano G. and Carmen Rios Gonzalez in Taft, Texas. Rob was a veteran and he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Tiffany Oates on March 17, 2007 in Denton, Texas. Rob graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a bachelor’s degree and received his master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton. Rob was a long-time Educator, administrator, and very passionate about education. He had worked for several years with Denton Independent School District, most recently as Director of Extended School Day. Rob loved Texas football and watching his boys play baseball. He loved his family, and especially spending time with his wife and boys, Reece and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his father, Aureliano G. Gonzalez.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 13 years, Tiffany Gonzalez of Denton; his sons, Reece and Cooper Gonzalez of Denton; his mother, Carmen Gonzalez of Taft; his brothers, Ricardo Gonzalez and wife Francis of Brenham and Michael Gonzalez of San Antonio; his sisters, Rachel Trevino and husband Daniel of Corpus Christi, Terry Gonzalez, and Rebecca Gonzalez of Taft; his mother-in-law, Tammie and David Burrage of Edmond, Oklahoma; his father-in-law, Leslie and Denise Oates of Paradise; his sister-in-law, Gracie Oates of Paradise; his brother-in-law, Stetson and Leslie Oates of Runaway Bay; and his brother-in-law, Joe and Jennifer Burrage of Atoka, Oklahoma.
