Arlington ~ Rodney D. McCoy, 68, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in Arlington.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Pastor Rick Davis will officiate. Pallbearers include Russell McCoy, Reagan McCoy, Ryan D. McCoy, Jimmy Fahnestock, Allen Broyles, and Steven Standefer.
Rodney was born on June 1, 1945 to Dr. Turney and Faye (Gurley) McCoy in College Station. He was united in marriage to Rose Mary Martin on April 24, 1966 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Rodney was owner and operator of Mac’s Automotive and R & M Trophies. He proudly served his country in the United Stated Army National Air Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Rose Mary Martin McCoy of Arlington; his sons, Russell Duwayne McCoy of Spring; Ryan D. McCoy and wife Janelle of Portland, Oregon, Reagan Daniel McCoy of Los Angeles, California; his grandchildren, Logan McCoy, Katie McCoy, and Emma Rose McCoy; his sister, Susan Voigt and husband Peter of Garland; his niece, Vanessa Voigt Stephens of Garland; other family members and a host of friends.
