Rodney Gene Reid

Newark- Rodney Gene Reid, 60, went to be with our Lord Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Rodney was born on November 17, 1962 to Vernon Lynn and Imma Gene (Grisham) Reid in Everman, Texas. He was united in marriage to Karen Miller on August 1, 2008 in Decatur. Rodney was a self-employed master carpenter as well as a certified electrician and plumber. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Imma Gene Reid; his daughter, Tarris Reid; his grandson Tavion Franklin; his brother Royce Reid; his brother n law Mike Sydow; and favorite nephew, Shane Sydow.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 14 years Karen Reid; 6 children, Bradley Martin, Brandy Johnson, Brandon Reid, Samantha Douglass, Jessie Reid and Jordan Reid; 20 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brother, Terry Reid; 2 sisters, Donna Lynn Sydow and Karen Ireland; his parents in law; his favorite dog, Junebug, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
