Chico: Rodolfo Olivarez, 79, went to be with our Lord Thursday, May 26, 2011 in Chico, Texas.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday, May 28th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with Father Manuel Rodriquez officiating. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Mike Olivarez, Leo Olivarez, Jonathan Olivarez, Edgar Gonzales, Mario Fuentes and Armin Gonzales.
Rodolfo was born April 19, 1932 in LaFeria, Texas to Pedro and Brawlia (Perez) Olivarez. He married Maria Fraga on February 16, 1996 in Decatur. Rodolfo retired from the United State Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Jesuchristo es el camino Iglesia del Nazareno Church.
Rodolfo (Rooster Rudy) enjoyed the simple life, he loved animals, was an expert fisherman and had a great sense of humor.
Left behind to cherish his memory are wife, Maria Olivarez of Chico; 2 sons, Lionel Olivarez of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Miguel Olivarez of Reno, Texas; 4 daughters, Maria Noelia Romero and Rosa Lopez both of Los Angeles, California, Sylvia Snook and Sonia Hayden both of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Guadalupe Olivarez, Jesus and Eluterio Ybarra; 2 sisters, Maria Hart and Manuela Ybarra; 3 step-children, Armin and Edgar Gonzales and Elizabeth Fuentes.
Rodolfo is preceded in death by his sister, San Juana Ybarra.
