Decatur: Rogelio "Roy" Galvan, 76, a retired rancher, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2009 in Decatur.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25th at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Decatur with burial following in Oaklawn Cemetery. Father Sojan George will officiate. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Armando Fernandez, Danny Galvan, Brian Galvan, Chad Galvan, Alex Rangel and Giovanni Rangel.
Born June 21, 1933 to Gilberto and Maria DeJesus Burziaga Galvan in Zaragoza Coahuila, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Benito and Santiago Nandin. He married Enedina Romo on May 19, 1952 in Zaragoza Coahuila, Mexico. Roy was a member of the Catholic church.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Enedina Galvan of Decatur; children, Hermelinda Galvan; Maribell Fernandez and husband, Armando, both of Decatur; Jesus Gilberto Galvan and wife Virma of Grand Prairie; Roy Galvan, Jr., and wife, Dianne of Slidell, Desire Aracely Rangel and husband, Jaime of Gunter; five granddaughers, Brooke and Shyle Galvan, Natalia and Karen Fernandez, and Karissa Rangel; six grandsons; Armando Fernandez, Danny, Brian and Chad Galvan, Alex and Giovanna Rangel; great granddaughter, Juliana Cortez; three brothers and two sisters.
