Decatur ~ Ronnie Leon Smith, 74, went to be with our Lord Monday, July 3, 2017 in Decatur.
Graveside service is 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Kris Hogan will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are Bart Gavit, Nathan Gavit, Brad Ash, Ben Hogan, and Deuce Hogan.
Ronnie was born on November 8, 1942 to Harlin and Muriel (Jennings) Smith in Argyle, Texas. He was united in marriage to Debbie Gavit on January 4, 1985 in Denton County. Ronnie was a retired owner/operator auto mechanic for over 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Argyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Debbie Smith of Decatur; his sons, Ronnie Smith Jr. and wife Kristine of Coppell, Robert Dale Smith and wife Karen of Oregon, Kris Hogan and wife Amy of Southlake, Ben Hogan of Decatur; his daughter, Rhonda Ash of Colorado; his brother, Doyle Smith and wife Judy of Keller; his sister, Wilda Hensley of Junction; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
