Ronny Dale Simmons

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with private burial. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Bro. Justin Smith will officiate. Pallbearers include Cody Maxfield, Kyle Maxfield, Nathan Simmons, Jason Simmons, Josh Snyder, Randy Simmons, Glen Hawley, and Everson Dunn.

Ronny was born on December 4, 1947 to Gordon and Hazel (Hobbs) Simmons in Linden, Texas. He was united in marriage to Melinda Castleberry on October 6, 1965 in Haltom City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Simmons; and his sister, Murlene Ohnheiser.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Melinda Simmons of Paradise; his son, Rodney Dale Simmons of Paradise; his daughter, Michelle Renae Maxfield of Fort Worth; his grandchildren, Cody and wife Amanda, Nathan and wife Holly, Lindsey and husband Josh, Bailey and husband Everson, Kyle and wife Chelsea; 12 great grandchildren; his brothers, Tommy Simmons and wife Melba of Azle, Terry Simmons and wife Donna of Fort Worth; his sister, Becky Hawley of Fort Worth; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

To the Simmons Family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Ronny was such a great guy. I remember him fondly from the time I worked with him framing houses. He always had a joke to tell or some funny remark to make the day pass. His smile and a generous spirit will be missed. I know this is a difficult time, and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
