Rosie was born in Indian Territory in Oklahoma before it became a state, to John Andrew and Rosa (Nantz) McCurry. This section of Oklahoma was then known as "The Osage Nation"
Rosie attended all 12 years of school in Burbank, Oklahoma, graduating from Burbank High School in 1925.
Rosie married Lyn Vaught on May 29, 1933. The two enjoyed a marriage lasting more than 57 years. Although Rosie and Lyn had no children of their own, many have looked to Rosie and Lyn as mom and dad over the years.
Since 1933, when she became a Christian, Rosie's vocation has been to introduce others to Jesus Christ. She had a special love for street children and orphans. She has been called "God's Benevolent Lady" because of her sacrificial giving to missions and world hunger. Even in death her instructions were for her house to be sold and the money used for orphans and missions.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers, George Washington McCurry, Edward McCurry, and Rolland McCurry, and her sister, Laura McCurry.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, her church family, and a host of friends.
