Runaway Bay ~ Rowland Duane Ketchersid, 60, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 in Runaway Bay.

Graveside Service is 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 7th, at East Bridgeport Cemetery.

Rowland was born on June 4, 1964 to Cheston Sweatmon and Marjorie Lydia (Rowland) Ketchersid in Garland. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Phyllis Forsgren. After a fulfilling career as a control systems lead at Amazon, Rowland retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and hard work. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1983-1989. Rowland was not just a husband and father; he was a cherished father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. His warmth and kindness touched the hearts of everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he enriched. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cheston and Marjorie Ketchersid.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Phyllis Ketchersid of Runaway Bay; his sons, Jordan Ketchersid of Runaway Bay, Joshua Ketchersid of Denton, and Nick Ketchersid of College Station; his grandsons, Elijah Loya and Liam Ketchersid both of Denton; his nieces, Amanda Walls of Fort Worth, Angela Perry of Iowa Park, Carmen Manry of Iowa Park, Sidney Beck of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Shelby Forsgren of Wichita Falls; his nephew, Ben Ketchersid of Addison; his sister, Jana Weber of Verona, Missouri; his brother, Kevin Ketchersid of Iowa Park; his daughter-in-law’s, Alexis Ketchersid of Denton and Molly Grace Ketchersid of College Station; other relatives and a host of friends.
