Alvord ~ Royce “Cotton” Edward Hodges, 76, a rancher, went to be with our Lord Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Alvord.
Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Alvord. Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Joshua Pinkerton, Jeremy Meador, Justin Meador, Jordan Hodges, Jacob Nethery, and Gabriel Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Woods and Ty Woods.
Royce was born on March 14, 1939 to Earl and Beulah (Kuykendall) Hodges in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage to Donna Robinson on March 26, 2008 in Decatur. Royce was a dairyman and rancher, he retired from Austin Powder. He was a member of Fundamental Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Calvin Hodges, Ronald Hodges and an infant brother.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Donna Hodges of Alvord; his son Danny Hodges and wife Gina of Alvord; his daughters, Denise Pinkerton and husband Mark of N. Richland Hills, Debra Meador and husband Ricky of Alvord, and Dianna Woods of Decatur; his step-children, Erica Villarreal and husband Andrew of Elgin, Rocky Weber and wife Kimberly of Virginia; his grandchildren, Amanda Nethery and husband Jacob, Joshua Pinkerton and wife Jennifer, Jeremy Meador and wife Jessica, Justin Meador and wife Naudia, Jordan Hodges and Bailey, Caitlyn Jones and husband Gabriel, Ryan and Ty Woods; his step grandchildren, Jordan, Tia, and Graham Weber; 10 great grandchildren, Caden and Parker Nethery, Emma and Ethan Pinkerton, Jaidyn, Jaycee, Tensley and Tatum Meador, Brantley Hodges, and Rylen Hicks; his sisters, Thelma Clower of Alvord, and Anita Hale of Joplin; his brother, Jimmy Hodges and wife Melva of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
