Roy Lee Mullins

February 2, 1929 — January 26, 2022

Burleson~ Roy Lee Mullins, 92, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in Burleson.

A family memorial will be held to honor Lee at a later date.

Lee was born on February 7, 1929 to Roy and Morgan (Denman) Mullins in Iowa Park, Texas. He was a retired Police Officer and Homicide Detective for over 30 years with the Fort Worth Police Department. Lee was united in marriage to the love of his life, Betty Mullins on October 16, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and together set to make a beautiful life spending many wonderful years together raising their family.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran and served in the Korean War. The family will miss his larger-than-life personality, watching him rope, hearing his great singing voice, receiving his beautiful paintings, and most of all his love and constant support for his family. He was an amazing man who had so many life experiences that made him into the interesting man he was and helped shaped his family into the people they are today. Lee was President of the Central Rodeo Association 1963-1968, and an inductee into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame. The family has enjoyed hearing the tales and stories of the good times with Lee, policing the streets of Northside, fishing in the some of the best spots in Texas, calf roping and team roping all over, or just sitting and visiting with his good friends when they needed him. He was loved by many and was a good friend to a lot of people.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Betty Mullins of Burleson; his sons, Stormy Mullins and wife Liz of Mineral Wells, Kelly Mullins and wife Barbara of Bridgeport; his grandchildren, Amy and Josh Donegan, Beth and Bean Stutts, Kali and Ben Sublett, Morgan and Troy Nelson and Matthew and Sara Mullins; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and a host of good friends.
