Ruby was born near Crafton, Texas on November 17, 1909 to Bud and Maggie Huckabee. She started school in Park Springs, Texas where she graduated in May of 1929. She married Roy Alexander on December 20, 1929 in Waurika, Oklahoma. Ruby and Roy moved to the Willis Alexander farm west of Park Springs in 1931 where they lived until 1945. In 1946 they bought the Willis Alexander farm southeast of Park Springs where they enjoyed all aspects of farm life until her husband Roy passed away on July 26, 1986.
Ruby had a great love for country life and remained on the farm for eleven years after her husband passed away. She loved to work in her garden. She raised chickens, tended to her fruit trees and a good supply of blackberries. She was never afraid to live alone. She loved to cook and will always be remembered as being a great cook.
Ruby moved into the Park Meadows Care Center, now called Trinity Independent Care Center on October 1, 1997, where she will always be remembered as an excellent games player and just being a faithful helper. She was aslo a very dedicated member of the Crafton Church of Christ.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Roy Alexander; her parents, James (Jim) Huckabee and Mary Huckabee; three brothers, Hicks Huckabee, James Huckabee, and Edd Hanes Huckabee; four sisters, Ethel Page, Addie Ashford, Mary Bonham, and Willie Wortman.
Left behind to cherish her memories are numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby will be missed as a great pioneer of Wise County, Texas.
