Decatur ~ Ruby Nell Cook, 79, of Decatur went to be with our Lord Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home chapel with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home Chapel.
Scott Strother will officiate. Pallbearers include Jim Graham, Roger Cook, Roy Cook, Joseph Agrue, Josh Koopmann, and Carter Cook.
Nell was born on November 11, 1940 to Ruben Claude and Willie Ruth (Green) Farquhar in San Antonio. She was united in marriage to Tom Roy Cook on August 7, 1958. She was a homemaker and a mother of four. Nell loved to travel and enjoyed being an Air Force wife for 20 years. She loved cooking for her family and enjoyed collecting cookbooks and coffee cups. She devoted her life to raising her children, volunteer work, and teaching Sunday School. She was an active member of Cates Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jerry Farquhar.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Tom Cook of Decatur; her children, Randy Cook and wife Judy of Murphy, Ronda and her husband Joseph Agrue of Hico, Roger Cook and wife Stormy of Kansas City, Missouri and Roy Cook and wife Danielle of Frisco; her grandchildren, Stephanie Koopmann, Taylor Evans, Douglas Gann, Maryjane Cook, Robert Minton, Christopher Minton, Rebekah Cook, Sarah Cook, Kaitlyn Cook, Carter Cook, Caedyn Frey, and Parker Frey; and her great-grandchildren, Paisley Koopmann, Teagan Koopmann, Ryker Koopmann, and Aislyn Gann; extended family members and a host of friends.
She will be greatly missed.
