Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Thursday at Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles Wallace, Rev. David Kurtz and Rev. Randy Hardisty to officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 3 in Alvord. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers are Brent Parker, Larry Hicks, Chris King, Sean Heinz, Andy Heinz, Jeff Heinz, Parker Hicks and Wilson Hicks.
Ruby was born on September 20, 1917, the daughter of Gus and Alice Green. She grew up and attended school in Alvord. She married B. W. McClung on November 29, 1934 and was married 45 years until his death on August 28, 1980.
Ruby worked at Dieb Dry Goods in Alvord for almost 30 years. She was a member of Eastern Star with over 50 years of service. Ruby served as treasurer and was awarded the Golden Patron of Missions award in recognition of more than 50 years of faithful service to the Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She also served as treasurer of Pleasant Grove Cemetery until her death.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Judy Parker and husband, Donnie of Alvord; grandchildren, Brent Parker and wife, Cindy, Donnette Hicks and husband, Larry; great grandchildren, LaToya and Kendall Parker, Parker, Wilson and Larrison Hicks; sister, Josephine Richardson of Arlington; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
