Chico~ Ruby Jean Gipson Morales, 77, of Chico, went to be with her Savior and Lord on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial following at Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery in Chico. Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Rev. Melvin Gipson will officiate. Pallbearers will include Derrick Mowery, Justin Morales, Matthew Morales, Calvin Morales, Jr., Jonathan Morales, and John McKelvain. Honorary Pallbearers will include Josh Vidal and Eric Herrera.
Ruby was born August 26, 1943 to F.W. and Ruby Lee (Sides) Gipson in Grand Saline, Texas. The family moved to Fort Worth in 1952 where Ruby attended Eastern Hills High School until marrying Ray Morales December 19, 1959. Ruby’s greatest accomplishments she held dear to her heart are her 5 children. She was a wife, mother, and homemaker. Ruby loved to travel with her girls and shopping was always to be had.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Ray Morales; and her twin sister, Imogene.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda Mowery and husband Walt of Chico; her 4 sons, Doug Morales and wife Sandra of Bridgeport, Calvin Morales and wife Donna of Chico, David Morales of Dallas, and Rick Morales and wife Stacey of Chico; her 3 brothers, Freddie Gipson of Haltom City, Melvin Gipson of Denison, and Richard Gipson of Alto, New Mexico; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
