Russell Adam Johnson

Bridgeport~ Russell Adam Johnson, 60, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in Decatur.

Bill Moe Moore will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Ernie Cox, JD Coffman, Mike Richey, Tim Hand, Bryan "Rabbit" Davis, Doug Blanks, Audie Morris, and Eddie Cox.

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home.

Russell was born on August 3, 1960 to Perry Adam and Patsy (Beck) Johnson in Bridgeport, Texas. He was self employed and was a truck driver for Anchor Trucking. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sheryl Lynn Rich on July 20, 1979 in Bridgeport. Russell loved playing the guitar, spending time with his family and good friends, he loved hunting and being outdoors, doing science experiments with his kids and grandkids, and any kind of woodworking. Russell was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Perry Johnson; and his grandson, Luke Johnson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Sheryl Johnson of Bridgeport; his daughters, Jayme Johnson of Chico, and Andrea Johnson of Decatur;  his sons, Rusty Johnson of Bridgeport and Cody Johnson of Columbus, Texas; his 4 grandchildren, Cade, Tatum, Maddox, and Perri; his mother, Patsy Johnson of Chico; and his brother, Patrick Johnson and wife Golda of Chico; numerous extended family members and a host of good friends.
