Newark ~ Russell B. Wirtz, 73, retired material expediter for Delta Airlines went to be with our Lord Sunday, June 9, 2013 in Decatur.
Memorial service is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Aurora Baptist Church.
Rev. Jimmy Withers will officiate.
Russell was born December 7, 1939 to Edward and Rosa (Bellah) Wirtz in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Carol Burnett on March 25, 1972 in Grapevine. Russell served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was an avid ham radio operator and a member of the Aurora Baptist Church.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Russell E. Wirtz.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Wirtz of Newark; his daughters, Christina West and husband Keith of Arlington, and Deborah Snipes and husband Brian of Robinson, Texas; his grandchildren, Amber, Rose, Sarah, Shannon, Joshua, and Jared; his great grandchildren, Elijah and Isaiah; his brothers, Ronnie and Robert Wirtz both of Fort Worth; his sister, Rita Clanton of Fort Worth; other relatives and a host of friends.
