Ruth Beatrice (Pope) Bisidas
June 24, 1919 — April 17, 2016
Decatur ~ Ruth Beatrice Bisidas, 96, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Sunday, April 17, 2016 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Coker- Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Dr. Van Gardner and Dr. Bill Hughes will officiate. Pallbearers include Jeremy Davis, Toney Kemp, Buddy Harris, Jayme Bisidas, Tim Whitehead, and Joe Leake.
Ruth was born on June 24, 1919 to Arther and Cora (Shackles) Pope in Cullman, Alabama. She was united in marriage to Tony James Bisidas on May 4, 1936 in Falksville, Alabama. Ruth was a member of the Family Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Tony Bisidas; her sons, Eddie Bisidas and Larry Bisidas; and her daughters, Shelba Roberts and Reba Whitehead.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Bonnie Kemp and husband Stanley of Decatur; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
