Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 21st at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Freddie Villa officiating. Burial followed service in Boyd Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Raymond Van Meter, David Ford, John Ford, Mike Doyle, Tim Doyle, and Jamey Davis.
Ruth was born March 7, 1927 to Daniel Ward and Laura Jane Harkins Lockhart in Boyd, Texas. She retired from the restaurant business.
Left behind to cherish her memory are two daughters, Debbie Morris and Becky Doyle of Decatur; son, Sam Van Meter and wife, Pat of Crowder, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Frankie, Ruby Jo and Marge; and two brothers, Barney and Garland.
