Ruthie Meadows Adams

Paradise ~ Ruthie Meadows Adams, 93, went to be with our Lord Friday, August 9, 2024 in Decatur.

Graveside Service is 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 12th, at Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport.

Ruthie was born on September 24, 1930 to Henry Clayton and Tommie (Stevens) Meadows in Wise County. She was united in marriage to the love of her life Garland Adams on July 13, 1948 in Boyd. They were together 41 beautiful years before his passing in 1989. Ruthie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a friend to many that will miss her dearly.

Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Garland Adams; her brothers, Henry Wayne Meadows, Raymond Lee Meadows, Dean Meadows, and Johnnie Meadows.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Lonnie Wayne Adams and wife Dianne of Paradise, Katherine Elaine Jones and husband Tom of Paradise, and Tommie Delena Hinshaw and husband Vince of Bay Minette, Alabama; her grandchildren, Daniel Adams, Wendy Key, Jesse Hinshaw, and Hanna Ciminilli; her step-grandchild, Amanda Jones; 4 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her sister, Helen Golayemer Glazner of Lewisville; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
