Samie Calvin Erwin

Boyd ~ Samie Calvin Erwin, 82, a farmer/rancher went to be with our Lord Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Boyd.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Paradise Cemetery.  Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Rev. Terry Terry will officiate.  Pallbearers include Kyle Erwin, Bryson Gentry, Wesley Moss, Michael McBride, Darryl Wilson, and Brent Vincent.

Samie was born October 3, 1935 to Buck and Lela (Brown) Erwin in Paradise.  He was united in marriage on February 5, 1958 to Virginia Lee Higgins in Cleburne.  Samie was a member of Cottondale Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge in Boyd.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Calvin Wayne Erwin and Larry Ronald Erwin; and his brother, J.D. Erwin.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Ginger Erwin of Boyd; his daughter, Samie Gail Gentry and husband Jimmy of Paradise; his son, Gary Don Erwin and wife Sandy of Paradise; his grandchildren, Bryson Gentry and girlfriend Crystal Anthony, Kyle Erwin and girlfriend Lindsey Shaffer, Raylee Moss and husband Wesley, Josh Erwin and wife Lizzy, and Brandi Erwin; his great grandchildren, Karis and Teegan Moss, and Tristan Erwin; his brother, Arvil Wayne Erwin of Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
