Bridgeport ~ Sammie Joyce Eubanks, 75, a retired manager of the Bridgeport Middle School cafeteria, went to be with our Lord Friday, March 9, 2012 in Decatur.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Bro. Dale Webster will officiate. Pallbearers include Markus Norris, Joshua Myers, Dustin Reed, Matthew Reed, Jacob Myers, and Skylar Wilhoit. Honorary pallbearers are J.R. Crall, Joseph Norris, and Michael Holland.
Sammie was born on July 4, 1936 to Carlis and Katherine (Thomas) Cope in Okeema, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Elmer "J.R." Eubanks on December 26, 1958 in DeQueen, Arkansas. Sammie was a member of Bible Baptist Church for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her grandson, Leland "J.R." Crall.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jewell Eubanks Coe and husband Jeff of Norman, Oklahoma, Joyce Eubanks Myers and husband Ric of Centennial, Colorado, Vicki Eubanks Wilhoit and husband Calvin of Bridgeport; her son, Markus Eubanks of Bridgeport; 12 grandchildren, Markus, Lee, Crystal, Josh, Dustin, Brandi, Kim, Michelle, Matt, Jacob, Austin, Sky, and Caitlin; 10 great grandchildren; her sisters, Retha Watson and Shirley Walls; her brother, C.E. Cope; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
