Sammy Joe "Bub" Matney

Paradise~ Sammy Joe “Bub” Matney, 80, went to be with our Lord Friday, June 7, 2019 in Decatur.

Memorial  is 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport, with burial in  Jonestown Cemetery.

Sammy was born January 31, 1939 to Clyde Alvis and Faye (Dunn) Matney in Boyd. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Viagra Vultures Motorcycles Club.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Matney.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Lisa Crites and husband Al of Santa Anna, California; his sons, Scott Matney and fiancée Kim of Fort Worth, Mark Matney and fiancée Sheri of Orangevale, California, and Steve Matney of Santa Anna, California; his 7 grandchildren, his 4 great grandchildren, his brothers, Jerry Matney and wife Nedra of Arizona, And Ben Matney and wife Nell of Houston; numerous nieces and nephews.
