Boyd ~ Sammy Ray Williams, 74, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Decatur.

Graveside service is 10 AM Saturday at Keeter Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Rev. Mark Autry will officiate.

Sammy was born on May 7, 1947 to Clint Cecil and Thelma Ray (Haygood) Williams in Decatur. He was united in marriage to Pamelia Ann Hawkins on May 16, 1992 in Keeter. Sammy retired from Wise County as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Everyone loved his jokes and said he had more than anyone should. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, CL Williams; and his eldest son, Chat Williams.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Pamelia Williams; his son, Carl Williams and wife Mandee; his daughter, Harley Williams; his bonus son, Jeffery Bow; his bonus daughter, Courtney Bow; 7 grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Jacob, Amanda, Remington, Ruger, and Paige; 5 great-grandchildren, Travis, Kayde, Liam, Tripp, and Dixie; his sister, Sally Reed; his brother, James (Bear) Hillburn and wife Caray; his nephew, Sammy Lee and wife Amy; his cousin, Coy Newbey and wife Evelyn; other relatives and a host of friends.
