Georgetown ~ Samuel Abraham Hines, 81, a retired chief master sergeant went to be with our Lord Monday, December 17, 2012 in Georgetown.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora. Family will receive friends 11-1 p.m. Friday prior to the service at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.
Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate.
Samuel was born on April 11, 1931 to John and Eula (Bohen) Hines in Roswell, New Mexico. He was united in marriage to Linda Kay Poplin on March 12, 2005 in Luling, Texas. Samuel was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Samuel was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Pearl Francis Hines in 2003; and his brother, Harvey Hines.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Linda Kay Hines of Luling, Texas; his daughters, Eva Roop and husband Hugh of Johnson City and Cindy Turala of Ft. Worth; his son, Robert Hines and wife Marti of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Janice Ann Brooker and husband Denis of Georgetown, John Robbie Tuttle III of Kansas City, Kansas, Samuel Abraham Tuttle of Bastrop and James Edward Tuttle of Austin; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 1 sister; 2 brothers; other family members and a host of friends.
