Decatur: Sergio Reginaldo Gonzalez, 37, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, October 23, 2010 in Decatur.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 27th at Decatur Church of Christ with Rick Ross officiating. Burial will follow after the service at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Tuesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Tyler Gonzalez, Juan Gonzalez, Michael Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez, Armondo Gonzalez, Robert Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Johnny Gonzalez, and Jose Gonzalez.
Sergio was born on January 1, 1973 in Zaragoza, Mexico to Jesus Noe and Gloria Ozuna Gonzalez. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1991. Sergio was employed by Devon Energy as foreman.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, JoAnn Gonzalez of Decatur; a son, Tyler Gonzalez of Decatur; daughter, Jocelyn Wheeler of Norfolk, Virginia; 8 brothers, Jesus, Jr., Juan, Feliciano, Jose, Antonio, Roberto, Carlos and Armondo Gonzalez, all of Decatur; three sisters, Maria Ochea, Christina Martinez both of Decatur and Brenda Sonora of Uvalde, Texas; mother, Gloria Gonzalez, of Decatur; lifelong brother Michael Vess of Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Noe Gonzalez, Sr.
