Shaun Marc Hickerson

On December 29th, 2020, we lost a piece of our world suddenly and far too soon. Shaun Marc Hickerson flew peacefully to Heaven to be with the Lord.

Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church Keller with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd.

Rev. Jim Bob Roberts. Pallbearers include Sou Sou Phomsavanh, Tim Baker, Jason Peacock, Mike Felts, Sean Tucker, and Houh Sok. Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Hutchens, Kris Bishop, Deric Carpenter, Drew Carpenter, and Justin RedElk.

Shaun was born in Oklahoma on June 8th 1983. His roots and memories ultimately landed in Keller, Texas, where he grew up and built an amazing legacy of everlasting friendships. Shaun graduated from Keller High School in 2001 where he was active in student council, cross country and track, soccer, and many other extracurricular activities.  In July 2014, he married Megan Payne. On February 5th 2018, Shaun and Megan welcomed their son, Colter Mark, the pride, joy, and highlight of Shaun’s life. Shaun was someone you counted on to be that nice guy you need around when no one else was.  He was genuine, selfless, loved a good joke, and was endlessly loyal. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, laughing and reminiscing with his brother, their friends, and training and playing with his faithful dog Cash. Shaun cherished his ‘56 Ford Fairlane that he rebuilt with his dad and brother. His first best friend and partner in crime was his twin brother Shane. The bond and love that they share is infinite. Shaun’s legacy will be carried on through his son Colter Mark Hickerson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Stephen and Lewanna Hickerson of Boyd, TX. His twin brother and his wife, Shane and Natalie Hickerson of Roanoke, Texas, his four sisters, Lisa Neugebaur and husband Jimmy of Indiahoma, Oklahoma; Tammy Garrett and husband Jerry of Platteville, Colorado; Shelley Vickery and husband Donny of Cache, Oklahoma; Ruth Felts and husband Mike of Burleson, Texas; an abundance of nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

He will forever be remembered for his big bear hugs and his dimpled grin that came off as sunshine. He was the very best son, brother, dad, uncle and friend. Truly the very best. See you when we get there, save us a seat right next to you!
