BRIDGEPORT -- Sherry Elizabeth Whitehead, 85, a retired registered nurse for 48 years, died Wednesday, November 16, 2005 in Bridgeport. Funeral: 11 A.M. Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial: Chico Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial: Wise County Crime Stoppers. Mrs. Whitehead married Dr. Dan Whitehead on September 6, 1946 in Dallas. They were united 56 years at his passing on November 30, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Iva Driskel Brown; her brother, Jack W. Brown, Sr.; and sister Lena Wilkerson. Sherry was a member of the First baptist Church of Bridgeport and the Southwestern Texas Cattle and Ranchers Association Survivors: son: Doug Whitehead and wife Beverly of Bridgeport; daughters: Sherry Whitehead and friend Bobby Murphrey of Bridgeport, Dana Whitehead Rigg of Dallas; 7 grand children: Kim Evans and husband Jay, Carri Hyde and husband Kip, Sabrina Polk and husband Jeremy, Carol Bush and husband Paul, Keilly Johnson and husband Rex, Scott Stanford and wife Amy, Steve Stanford and wife Michelle; 14 great grandchildren: Kristyl, Jason, Haley, Mason, Kat, Emily, Tripp, Jordan, Brianna, Ethyn, Ashlyn, Derrick, Kaitlyn, and Trey. Pallbearers will be: Scott Stanford, Steve Stanford, Jay Evans, Jason Evans, Jeremy Polk, and Kip Hyde.
