Bridgeport~ Shirley Ingram Arrington, lovingly known as “Memaw”, 86, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 3, 2022 in Decatur, Texas.
Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 8th, 2022 in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Pastor David Lowrie will officiate.
Shirley was born on March 31, 1936 to Van Frederick and Bessie L. (Hicks) Ingram on Corbin Cattle Ranch in Pontotoc County, Oklahoma. She was a retired teacher and librarian who worked in the Bridgeport Independent School District for many years. Shirley was united in marriage to Bill G. Arrington on January 1, 1956 in Madill, Oklahoma and were together 60 years until his passing in 2016. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Decatur. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and more, who will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Bill Arrington.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Mitch Arrington and wife Lee Ann, and Bruce Arrington and wife Darline, all of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Lindsey Arrington, Alyssa Arrington, Emily Byrd and husband Jake, John Ryan Arrington, and Dr. Blake Arrington, and wife Whitney; her great-grandchild, Beau Byrd; her brother, Jim Ingram and wife Joan of Allen; her brother, Dr. Fred Ingram of Tulsa; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
