Shirley (Swetnam) Duncan

Runaway Bay ~ Shirley Duncan, 81, a retired secretary, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Decatur.

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in Perrin Memorial Garden in Perrin. Family will receive friends 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Melvin Clay will officiate. Pallbearers include Lance Petty, Davy Duncan, Kyle Jenkins, Justin Duncan, Cody Duncan, Tyler Duncan, and Keith Jenkins.

Shirley was born on February 4, 1936 to Frank and Joe (Sims) Swetnam in Graham. She was united in marriage to Willie Duncan on November 5, 1950 in Jacksboro. Shirley was a retired secretary and member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Tommy Duncan; her sister, Mickey Brock; and her brother, Carl Swetnam.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kay Petty and husband Jerry of Weatherford, her son, David Duncan and wife Sharon of Runaway Bay; her son, Danny Duncan and wife Lisa of Fort Worth; her daughter, Kathy Counts of Fort Worth; her daughter, Sharon Woodard and husband Kevin of Azle; her daughter, Carla Morris and husband Mike of Weatherford; her grandchildren, Lisa Barousse, Lance Petty, Davy Duncan, Tina Turner and husband Randy, Keith Jenkins and wife Jamie, Amye Read, Kyle Jenkins and wife Chelsey, Kayla VanBrunt, Cody Duncan and wife Krystal, Justin Duncan and wife Brittany, Tyler Duncan and wife Becca, and Kelby Duncan; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; other family members and a host of friends.
