Shirley Elaine (Caraway) Foster

Decatur ~ Shirley Elaine Foster, 82, went to be with our Lord Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Decatur.

Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel Decatur with burial in Sweetwater Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Dr. Van Gardner will officiate. Pallbearers include Justin Placek, Bryce Placek, K.W. Foster, Bobby Hale, Gary Caraway, and Monty Caraway.

Shirley was born on February 26, 1936 to James Monroe and Callie (Smith) Caraway in Decatur, Texas. She was united in marriage to Wayne Foster on September 4, 1955 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Shirley retired as a beautician and owned Cut-N-Curl for many years. Shirley loved to travel and loved her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur, and was a lifelong member of the B.P.O.E. Does where she served as President in Tucumcari, New Mexico

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years and brother, Gene Edwin Caraway.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are son, Klent Foster and wife Michelle of Albuquerque; her daughter, Vonya Placek and husband Jack of Decatur; her brothers, Kenneth Caraway, Bert Caraway and wife Virginia of Decatur; her grandchildren, Shellie Hale, Justin Placek, K.W. Foster, Krishana Foster, and Bryce Placek; her great grandchildren, Alexa, Jaxtin, Jacob, Huxli, and Axyl; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
