Shirley Jean Von Heuvel

Bridgeport~ Shirley Jean Von Heuvel, 87, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in Decatur.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pastor David Ray will officiate. Pallbearers are to include, Robert Shawn, Josh Wingate, Tim Perry, David Jackson, Colby Shawn, and Terry Lambert.
Shirley was born on September 3, 1935 to Archie Ray and Claudia Jean (McEntire) Giles in Bridgeport, Texas. She was a homemaker and a retired LVN who worked for many years at Golden Years Retreat and Wackenhut in Bridgeport. Shirley was united in marriage on June 20, 1960 to Herman Von Heuvel in Bridgeport and they were together many years until his passing on April 1, 1998. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her so much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Claudia Giles; and her husband, Herman Von Heuvel.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Bobby Joe Blount, Jr. and wife Evon of Saginaw, Tracy Allen Von Heuvel and wife Regina of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Chris Blount of Weatherford, Bryan Blount of Portland, Oregon, and Nikki Blount of Holywell, MA; her great-grandchildren, Alexandria Blount, Kyla Blount, Logan Blount, Henry Blount, and Luke Blount; and numerous friends.
