Midland~ Shonna Yvonne (Gentry) Perry 43, formerly of Cottondale, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in Midland.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at The First Baptist Church in Cottondale with burial in Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Rev. Charles Pugh and Bro. Terry Terry will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Matthew Weeden, John Weeden, Walker Winters, Mikah Winters, Michael Winters, Philip Silvey and Kimma Winters.
Shonna was born on August 9, 1977 in Tarrant County, Texas. She always felt honored to share a birthdate and name with her grandmother, Lorene Yvonne (Niblett) Gentry. Shonna attended schools at Boyd, Paradise and Glen Rose. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from UNT Denton, a Master’s degree from TWU Denton and a certificate of manufacturing from Ohio State University. Shonna worked in the aerodynamics industry for over 17 years in supply chain, logistics and materials management for such prestigious companies as Lockheed Martin, Rockwell Collins, August Westland (commercial Tilt Rotor Program) and Bell Helicopter. She was CPIM Certified (certified production and inventory management.) Most recently, she was the Assistant General Manager at Midland County Fresh Water Services District. Shonna was united in marriage to Shane Allen Perry in 2014 in Wise County, Texas.
She is survived by her husband Shane Perry of Midland; one son, Eland Delgado, her mother, Donna Weeden, her grandparents, Don and Lorene Gentry and her brother, Matthew Weeden all of Cottondale; her brother, John Weeden of Louisiana; her sister, April Winters and husband Michael of Boyd; her nephews, Walker and Mikah Winters and Chase and Parker Weeden; her nieces, Keylee and Kimma Winters and Mattison Weeden; numerous extended family members and friends.
