Boyd ~ Soretha Gillespie Wilson, 57, a real estate agent, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2011 in Denton.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd with burial in Boyd Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Bro. Terry Phillips will officiate. Pallbearers include Forest Cartwright, Trevor Gillespie, Bryan Gillespie, Brad Wilson, Jason Rogers, and Michael Dickens. Honorary pallbearers include Joe Stephens and Sonny Raley.
Soretha was born on October 7, 1953 to Herald and Tommie (Swinney) Gillespie in Decatur. She graduated from Boyd High School in 1972. Soretha married Donald Gene Wilson on July 1, 1988 in Boyd. She worked for Herald Gillespie Real Estate and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Gene "Shooter" Wilson of Boyd; her sons, William Shelby, Jr. and wife Jackie of Decatur and Brad Wilson and wife Judi of Roanoke; her daughter, Brandy Hagelstein and husband John of Bakersfield, California; six grandchildren, Jerrett, Noah, Payten, Brody, Nathan, and Wiley; her parents, Herald D. and Tommie Gillespie of Boyd; her brothers, Herald W. Gillespie and wife Linda of Boyd and Marshall D. Gillespie and wife Marietta of Highland, Utah; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
