Soundra Sue Leath Bramlett Prather

April 5, 1945 — June 18, 2018

Decatur ~ Soundra (Sandy) Sue (Leath/Bramlett) Prather, 73, went to be with our Lord Monday, June 18, 2018 in Decatur.

Sandy was born on April 5, 1945 to Joe and Mildred (Brown) Peters in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Sandy was a retired Merle Norman Cosmetics beauty consultant.

Sandy was a master of many talents, she could paint beautiful pictures; her favorite to paint were Indians, she sketched, she made beautiful stained-glass art, however her utmost favorite talent was performing karaoke, both professionally and at her home studio with her friends.  Sandy had a bigger than life personality, she loved red, fancy colorful cowboy hats, rhinestones and was a beautiful, strong lady till the end.

She was always there for her friends and family at all times and has already caused “great things” to happen in her new job role as “Our Angel Mom and NanaD in Heaven”.

Chaplin Phillip Weitner will be officiating her Celebration of Life Memorial on Sunday, July 1, 2018 @ 2:30 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur, Texas.

Sandy’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and especially Solaris Hospice nurses and aides that helped take care of her after her diagnosis of multiple myeloma (blood cancer), as well as the many friends who provided meals, visits and prayers during this difficult period. You are all loved.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Ray Peters; her brother, Jimmy Ray Peters; her sister, Treva Jo Peters; her grandson, Judah Leon Hall.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her mother, Mildred Bell and husband Eldon of Fort Worth; her daughter, Mellody Brewer and husband Doug of North Richland Hills; her son, Billy Leon Hall Jr. and wife Lisa of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; her grandsons, Billy Leon Hall III and wife Judith and Skylar Joe Wilhoit and wife Brittany; her great granddaughter, Beckham Kierce Wilhoit; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
