Steve Gordon Holland

Decatur ~ Steve Gordon Holland, 82, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, August 17, 2022.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Sweetwater Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Matt Gage will officiate. Pallbearers include Bill Adams, Don Singleton, Danny White, Larry Gage, Patrick Newberry, and Craig Jackson.

Steve was born June 18, 1940 to Ivan Henry and Juanita Faye (Beaver) Holland in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was united in marriage February 21, 1960 to Bonnie Meador in Decatur, Texas. Steve had an associate’s degree and retired from the United States Postal Service after working many years as a clerk. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Steve was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Juanita Holland; his wife Bonnie Holland; and his son, Kirk Holland.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Dawn Downe and husband Mark of Decatur; 2 grandchildren, Staci Barrios and husband Andrew of Paradise, and Alexis Downe of Decatur; his sister, Pam Holland of Decatur; extended family members and a host of friends.
