Steven Wade Stewart, 49, of Rhome, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Decatur, Texas.
Celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel, Decatur, Texas. Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at the funeral home.
Steve was born May 5, 1963, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Robert Vernon and Alice Ann (Stovall) Stewart, both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Southern Illinois University, was a veteran of the United States Navy, and was presently District Manager for Trican Well Service in Springtown, Texas.
Steve leaves behind a legacy of philanthropy through his involvement in various charities. He was an avid reader and prankster. Steve also enjoyed watching Sooner football, boating, and spending time with his family and friends as well as his beloved cat, Ebony, and his sweet German Shepherd, Miss Daisy. Steve always said "The most important thing I ever did in my life was being a father." He will be sorely missed.
