Newark ~ Tapio Martti Otamaa, 62, a CEO with Danske Bank, went to be with our Lord Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his home in Newark.
Services will be held at a later date in Finland.
Tapio was born April 26, 1949 to Kauko and Helvi (Salonen) in Helsinki, Finland. He married Myrna Kim Del Moral on August 19, 1993 in West Port, Connecticut. Tapio was one of the first foreign exchange students in Texas from Finland and was a 1967 graduate of Richland High School. He received his MBA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as well as being a Fulbright Scholar.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Kim Otamaa of Newark; his mother, Helvi Otamaa of Helsinki, Finland; his sons, Jouni Otamaa of Helsinki, Finland and Carlo Kyprios of Stockholm, Sweden; his daughters, Annette Kokkola MacKlean of Danbury, Connecticut and Mia Kokkola of London, England; his sister, Seija Otamaa of Helsinki, Finland; other family members and a host of friends.
