Boyd: Tessie Edna Sydow, 92, of Boyd, went to be with our Lord, Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4th at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Slimp officiating. Interement: Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 1. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Terry Smith, Scott Brown, Stan Sydow, Cory Feldhaus, Christopher Feldhaus, Ben Cozby,Bryan Coleman; and Jason Nelson. Honorary pallbearer is Alex Brown.
Edna was born on December 5, 1919 in Decatur to John and Ola (Rasbury) North. She was united in marriage to Albert Sydow on July 10, 1937 in Decatur and was married 48 years at his death on August 18, 1985. Edna was also preceded in death by her son, Buddy Sydow on March 17, 1993; 1 brother; and 1 sister. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd.
Left behind to cherish her memory are 2 daughters, Virginia Coleman and husband Don of Huntsville, Christine Brown and husband Doug of Azle; son, J.C. Sydow and wife Paula of Boyd; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
